The Best Sides For Your Burger

Burger’s are one of the most, if not the most, popular foods in America. It would be a hard task to find more than a handful of people who have never tried a burger, or who doesn’t have a favorite burger. From high-end restaurants to fast food joints, from food trucks to backyard cookouts, burgers are a staple of modern American food culture.

When it comes to a meal, the main dish is almost never alone. A great dinner is all about the sum of its parts, and a big part of dinner is the side dish. The right sides can elevate any meal from good to great. Luckily for burgers, there’s no shortage of fantastic side dishes that go well with it.

Let’s take a look at some of the best and most delicious sides for your burger. You’re sure to find a way to make your next cookout unforgettable!

French Fries

French fries are perhaps the most iconic side dish for burgers out there. There’s a reason french fries have become the default side for so many foods. Their crispy, salty goodness is practically unmatched, and with the right seasonings, they get as close as they can to perfection. If you want a classic side dish for your burger that’s guaranteed to be a satisfying addition, you can’t go wrong with french fries.

Sweet Potato Fries

If you want the satisfying crispness and crunchiness of a french fry, but you’re looking for a healthier alternative, then look no further. Sweet potato fries are the perfect option for you. They maintain almost all of the best parts of a regular french fry, but switch out the savory flavor for a sweet one. Sweet potato fries offer a similar but unique experience from their counterparts, and when served with a burger, you’re sure to have a delicious meal.

Grilled Corn on the Cob

The name says everything you need to know about this side. Take a corn cob, grill it up, and serve this simple yet delicious food with a delicious burger. If you're looking to spice up this relatively basic dish, there’s no shortage of options for you. You can wrap it in bacon, top it with pesto, slather it in barbecue sauce, or even use your favorite seasonings to give it your own personal spin.

Buffalo Cauliflower

As another healthy alternative to a classic food, buffalo cauliflower can satisfy your desire for wings while still giving you a serving of vegetables. Coat your florets in your preferred buffalo sauce, air fry them, and you’ve got yourself the perfect addition to your burger meal.

Grilled Asparagus

If you're still looking for a healthy addition to your meal, asparagus is a great direction to go in. You’re already going to have your grill fired up for your burgers, and grilled asparagus is a perfect side dish that delivers thick and crispy stalks of veggies to your plate.

Grilled Pineapple

We’re still on the deliciously healthy train with this one. Pineapples are already a friend of burgers, as there are more than a few burger recipes that call on them for a sweet kick of flavor. This time, you’ll be grilling the pineapple to join the burger on the plate. The sweet juiciness of a pineapple is brought out even more by cooking one on the grill. What you end up with is a caramelized treat for your dinner plate.

Onion Rings

Onion rings are one of the best friends a burger could ever ask for. These popular appetizers make a great addition to any burger meal. Their sweet tenderness on the inside combined with their crisp and crunchy outside to make a delectable side dish. The best thing about them is you can enjoy them on the side, or put them on your burger for an explosion of flavor. You really can’t go wrong with onion rings.
