These pierogies are made with flaky dough and filled with creamy cheese, juicy Braveheart beef, mashed potatoes, and an array of seasonings. Recreate this easy dish at home for a fun flavor experience.
Ingredients
1lb Braveheart Black Angus Beef
4 russet potatoes, washed, peeled, and cut into 1-inch cubes
½ onion, diced
Oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp paprika
10 ounces ricotta cheese
⅓ cup cheddar cheese, grated
4 cups flour
2 eggs
1 cup warm water
2 tbsp butter
Directions
Boil potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender. Transfer to a bowl and mash until smooth. Set aside
In a large skillet over medium heat, add oil, onions, and beef. Cook until beef is cooked through and transfer to a bowl. To the bowl, add mashed potatoes, ricotta cheese, cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix until ingredients are well combined. Set aside.
For the dough, add flour, eggs, and water to a bowl and mix well. Knead the dough until smooth and set aside for 20 minutes.
Roll dough until thin and cut into circular shapes.
Place a tbsp of filling in the center of the dough and fold to seal the mixture inside.
Boil pierogies for 3 minutes and transfer to a pan with melted butter. Cook until the pierogies are golden brown.
