Beef Biryani

This Beef Biryani is a Pakistani dish that is full of flavor. It is a delicious one pot dish that is the perfect dinner for the rushed at-home chef. Try this recipe out for a fun and unique flavor experience.


  • 1 Braveheart New York Strip Steak, sliced into cubes

  • 1 large red onion, thinly sliced

  • Oil

  • 3 tbsp garlic paste

  • 2 tbsp ginger paste

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tbsp chili powder

  • 1 tbsp red chili flakes

  • 2 tsp cumin

  • 3 green chilis, chopped

  • 1 tsp coriander

  • 1 tsp Garam Masala

  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes

  • 3 tomatoes, diced

  • 2 cups of basmati rice

  • 4 cups water

  • 1 cup plain greek yogurt


  1. Add ½ inch of oil to a large pot and fry red onion until golden brown. Remove from pan and set aside.

  2. Add more oil to the pan and add beef, half of the fried onions, tomatoes, garlic paste, ginger paste, paprika, chili powder, red chili flakes, cumin, coriander, and garam masala. Mix well and cook on high heat for 8-11 minutes.

  3. Add 4 cups of water to the pan and bring to a boil. Cover and cook on low for 15-20 minutes.

  4. While the beef mixture is cooking, boil potatoes in salted water until tender. Remove from the pot and set aside.

  5. Cook basmati rice per package directions. Once rice is cooked, remove from heat and let cool.

  6. Add yogurt to the pot with the beef mixture and mix until well combined. Next, add boiled potatoes and green chilis and allow to cook for 5-7 minutes.

  7. Add the remaining fried onions and rice to the beef mixture and mix well.

  8. Let cool, serve, and enjoy!
